About this Event
Every Thursday, Artichoke Community Music hosts the Thursday Night Coffeehouse Showcase—an evening of up to four local and touring artists in an intimate listening-room setting. Curators such as the Portland Folk Music Society and Portland Songwriters Association select the performers, who generously donate their sets to support Artichoke’s mission. Audience tips go directly to the musicians. Beer, wine, soft drinks, and light snacks are available at the bar.

MARSHALL ANDERSON:
"Sprightly alt-rock with a rustic punk veneer reminiscent of Elliott Smith."
-Abby Johnston (Austin Chronicle)
“Damn. There is sunlight here I haven’t seen in years. The warm tones and gold hues emanating from Marshall Anderson‘s second full-length release, Beautiful Infinite Wonderful, are a reflection of everything the Austin-based songwriter embraces across the folk spectrum, from pop elements to jazz-influenced sounds.”
-Laurie Gallardo (KUTX 98.9)
"Marshall moves through the world in a stream of poetry, words flowing from his pen and exhaling from his guitar as naturally as the sun shines on cotton fields."
-Christian Wallace (Texas Monthly)

DEAN BOUDOURIS:
Drawing from years of experience as a bass player supporting acts around the NW, Dean’s songs come straight from the heart. As a founding member of portland’s one and only Vagabond Opera, Dean has been making music in the portland area since the 90’s. A little protest music, songs of pain, and some that offer some hope.
WILL HOBBS:
Will Hobbs has been writing songs since the mid-1960s, primarily in the Folk/Americana traditions. He has won numerous lyric and songwriting awards, locally, regionally and nationally, and, with his band, Wheatfield, was inducted into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2011. He currently plays in the acoustic Americana trio Woodlander, a trio formed from the folk-roots nucleus of Wheatfield. Will plays a number of instruments, but when playing solo, generally sticks to the guitar, harmonica, Irish bouzouki, mandolin and voice. He has a number of new originals he's eager to share.
