Super Blue Moon will be playing at The Siren's Calling in Portishead on Saturday 26th April Super Blue Moon forged in the fiery furnace of rock pubs and the live music scene of South West England. Authentic and ambitious, SBM a power trio who pair their original songs with reworked versions of their favourite iconic rock tracks aiming to deliver a truly live, no frills and no fillers experience. Super Blue Moon comes together to perform the music of:
Darren McGrath (drums/vocals) A scholarship recipient of the prestigious from Berklee College of Music (Boston USA), Darren has toured the world, played over 1000 shows and worked with Grammy Award-winning artists. This is the first project where Darren has brought the lead vocals to the back of the stage to represent all the singing drummers out there.
Ben Balsom (guitar/vocals) Laid-back riffs, soaring guitar solos and a tone that will take you back to the 70s British rock scene. Ben has crafted his sound and songwriting over years of shows and festivals across the UK; sharing his love for Les Pauls and live music with as many people as possible. Imagine if Peter Green met Paul Kossoff in a bar with Tony Iommi but all they could talk about was Neil Young - then you’d be in the right sort of sonic territory.
Jess Balsom (bass/vocals) From the keys and onto the bass - multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter Jess Balsom has played in a variety of heavy rock outfits, notably working alongside former Hawkwind bassist Alan Davey as part of the Psychedelic Warlords to bring space rock to audiences across Europe. Jess now captures the simple, pounding edge of bass playing. No effects, just a 70s Selmer amp and a viola bass called Paul…
