About this Event
Struggling to get a strong, even bubble in your pipe? This drill-focused class is designed for beginner and advanced beginner glassblowers looking to refine their starts through guided repetition. We'll break down the process of gathering, shaping, and blowing to help you develop consistency and control. Expect to pop bubble after bubble—this class isn’t about making objects, but about building muscle memory and confidence in your technique. Whether you're looking to improve your foundation or correct common mistakes, this session will help you strengthen one of the most essential skills in glassblowing.
What to Expect: Students will work together and learn to manipulate molten glass (2000 degrees). Safety and tools will all be covered in a fun and exciting environment. As this is a drill based class, do not expect to create complete works. The hot shop is a loud studio, and can get quite warm. Glassblowing involves a variety of activities including sitting, standing, and working with hot glass. The environment can be very hot and loud at times. Handling glass and tools may require a certain level of dexterity and ability to lift 5-10 lbs approximately. Read more about how to prepare for class on our Registration Info page. To learn more about accessibility the Accessibility page on our website.
Eligibility: No previous experience necessary. Open to ages 14 and up.
Pick-up: As this is a drill based class, do not expect to create complete works that would need to be picked up.
