SociaLoftas returns with an exciting lineup of cultural, thought-provoking, and entertaining projects. To kick off the new season, we are inviting to discuss the concept of solidarity.Solidarity, as a moral concept, carries multiple interpretations; however, at its core, it signifies a relationship or unity among individuals. Solidarity politics, therefore, encompasses political actions, ideologies, and movements grounded in collective support and unity across diverse backgrounds and identities, united by common goals or values. In this "Scripted Voice" event, we aim to explore the concept of solidarity politics within the context of the Israel's occupation of Palestine, focusing on what it truly means to stand in solidarity with oppressed groups. To this end, Noah Brehmer, an American theorist and organizer currently based in Lithuania, and Mila Burchart, a translator and curator, will examine this critical concept from a Jewish, anti-Zionist perspective.
As always, the evening will conclude with participants sharing their own writings inspired by the theme. We look forward to seeing you all there.
