I've been wanting to do pop up stories and art activities at Englewood Park near the splash pad for a while now, but life kept getting away from me. I gave it a go and had so much fun doing Tiny Stories and Sculptures week one, that I've decided to make this a weekly thing. We will be doing different pop ups most Wednesdays, (weather permiting). I'll sign off time for Englewood kiddo's reading at home (RAH) minutes if they bring their calendars too. These pop ups include a story, plus a hands on art or craft activity for elementary age kids and their grown up, as well as any siblings who may want to participate. This is NOT a childcare service. An adult must be present for a child to participate to be responsible for their child (or children's) safety and well being at the park, and possibly to assist younger participants with their projects.
I will provide the story and all necessary supplies at no cost to you. If you would like to contribute a few bucks toward supplies, I wouldn't turn it down, but it's absolutely free to participate. (I've spent around $20 on supplies per week so far.)
This week's story will be, We are Extremely Very Good Recyclers by Lauren Child and we'll make either faries or dragonflies from toilet paper tubes and accessories, as chosen by participants at week two's story. Participation is open to all ages from toddler to adult. Participants will be provided with all supplies to make their art ready to take home same day.
