Come join us at these weekly pop-up play events. What will you find there? Lots of loose parts - like large cardboard boxes, planks, peastraw bales, wooden boxes, slack lines, mud kitchen materials, tree swings and more.
The term, 'loose parts' refers to materials which can be used in more than one way - supporting play that is more creative, innovative, collaborative and fun!
If you have never been to a loose parts play session, prepare to be amazed by what your child will do and create! It is a great opportunity as a parent/caregiver to sit back and observe and to meet others in your community.
Learn about the research recently conducted by UC students regarding the opportunities for the Linwood waterway and the adjacent pathway and greenspaces and share your thoughts on it. We also have an online survey about outdoor play in the inner east suburbs that we'd love you to contribute to. Share your insights and be in to win a $50 Woolworths card to be drawn on Dec 8th.
We're grateful for funding from Sport Canterbury's Tū Manawa Active Aotearoa and Christchurch City Council who have supported us to run these events.
