Parks and Recreation Month is a nationwide celebration held each July that highlights the importance of parks, recreation, and community programs in our daily lives. It recognizes the role these spaces and services play in promoting healthy lifestyles, connecting neighbors, supporting mental and physical well-being, and providing accessible opportunities for people of all ages to enjoy the outdoors.Join Parks and Recreation for Pop-Up in the Park beginning Monday, July 27 through the 31! Each day we’ll be at different parks offering fun, active, and engaging activities for the whole family. It’s a great way to get outside, explore your local parks, and enjoy everything our community has to offer.
Friday, July 31, 8:00–11:00 AM – Bicentennial Park:
End Parks and Recreation Month with a splash! Join Parks and Recreation for a fun-filled morning featuring tennis, racquetball, sand volleyball and faux bow archery. Bring the whole family to enjoy active games, friendly competition, and plenty of outdoor fun as we wrap up the month in style.
After 11:00 AM, have a picnic lunch and head over to Bicentennial Park Pool for open swim from 1:00–3:00 PM to cool off and relax. Pool passes are $3 per person. Plus, participants will have a chance to win one of four pool passes—don’t miss out on the fun and prizes!
