About this Event
With a sprinkle of holiday magic -- and our new Uptown Flash light installation twinkling above -- Uptown Grand Central's community plaza will be transformed into an ice-skating rink on Saturday, December 17, from 4-8 p.m.
Skate sessions are FREE, and skates will be available to borrow. Register your friend or family group here for a 30-minute session.
Before or after skating, hop a trolley from 125th Street to the Harlem Night Market at La Marqueta for great food and winter shopping with more than 50 local vendors!
Uptown Flash is a light display intended to bring light and joy to the underside of the dark and loud Park Avenue Viaduct train tracks. It was designed by NightSeeing artist Leni Schwendinger in partnership with TurnOut NYC, the Design Trust for Public Space and the NYC Department of Transportation, and will brighten the Uptown Grand Central community plaza between 124th & 125th streets during these dark winter months.
