Join The Bridge Singers, a community choir of around 50 voices directed by Cheryl Camm, for a pop-up concert in the Cathedral Nave. Founded in July 2015 and based in the villages of Felton and West Thirston in Northumberland, the choir performs music in a wide variety of styles – from classical and folk to popular – and strives to include a balance of these in every concert. The 2025–2026 season marks the choir’s 10th anniversary, with a series of special events planned for both singers and audiences. Their performance at Newcastle Cathedral is the first of these celebrations. Throughout the anniversary year, the choir will revisit favourite pieces from the 300 works they have sung since their formation. Earlier this year, members voted on their top choices, ranging from Rachmaninov to Queen, some of which appear in today’s programme.
This concert is FREE to attend, with no pre-booking required. Donations are warmly welcomed to help the Cathedral continue supporting and hosting community groups and choirs.
