The Virginia Chorale opens its 42nd season with "poor hymnal," the 2023 concert-length work by Pulitzer Prize winning composer David Lang. Set to sacred and secular texts about community and compassion, "poor hymnal" is a “thoughtful, moving, and inspiring” work that will receive its Virginia premiere by the Chorale.This concert will be fully a cappella, performed by 17 singers and conducted by artistic director Charles Woodward.
