While we could never claim him as our own, Dennis Hatch was always like The People’s Champion around this area. With all of his accomplishments he never got too big to come to Utica. It was a regular thing to see him at every Joss event over at Hippos, as the Contes were always strong promoters of the tour and professional pool in general. Dennis (along with Karen Corr) was one of the pros that got me interested in getting better at pool. I remember watching one of his matches at Hippos and thinking, “Wow! Look at that ball that went in!” Then, it hit me after watching more of the match, “He did that on purpose! He KNOWS HOW to do that!” and from there I learned to watch and learn, and I’ve never stopped wanting to get better!
So it is my honor to have Dennis return to Utica and see my room and put on an amazing show with his travel partner, none other than BCA Hall of Famer Earl “The Pearl” Strickland! For decades, these two have dominated American pool and the world! And Earl’s still going, competing in the last Mosconi Cup on behalf of Team USA!
They’ll be with us for our Poolapalooza, Friday, August 9, 2024 doing an exhibition match against each other and hanging out with us for challenge matches and a meet and greet!
There is no cost to watch the show. However, if you would like to help offset the expenses of bringing these elite players to town, we will offer some limited VIP seating ($25) close to the action and the opportunity to play a rack against one of them ($20). We appreciate your support!
If you are interested in the group clinic they will be offering from 2-5pm on the 9th, the cost is $150 per person (a steal, quite honestly) plus $10 table fee. Paid slots will be reserved.
So to recap, we’ll have Dennis and Earl in the house for lessons and an exhibition, they’ll be hanging out with us until we wear them out! We’ll have the 9-Ball tournament starting at 10:00 and we’ll be open until 6AM Saturday! That’s an insane night of pool!!!
This is so big it should have a cool name like Poolapalooza! Oh wait! It does!!!! 🫢🤣

We will be open ALL NIGHT! We’ll open at 2PM as usual and stay open until 6AM Saturday as the sun comes up!
Next, we’ll be hosting a Late Night 9-Ball Tournament!!!
