Calling all dog lovers and party animals! Get ready to Strutt your Mutt and Pawty in the Patch at Nelson's Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
This event is so pup-ular, it'll have your tail wagging! Dress up your furry friends in their favorite Howl-o-ween costumes and join us for the 10th Annual Pooches in the Patch extravaganza!
Here's what's in store for you and your pooch:
Meet adorable dogs looking for their fur-ever homes from Journey Home Animal Rescue from 12:00-1:00 P.M. Who knows, you might find your perfect four-legged companion!
Enjoy a doggie hayride, take a walk through Spookley's Trail, hop on the Bee Train ride, and test your navigating skills in a ten-acre corn maze! Your pup will have a tail-waggingly good time!
And guess what? We've got a KISSing booth for a great cause! Pucker up with a Pooch from Journey Home Animal Rescue at our brand-new SMOOCH A POOCH KISSING BOOTH for just $1.00 per smooch! All proceeds will be donated to Journey Home Animal Rescue!
Oh, and don't forget to take a guess at how many dog treats are in the jar at the kissing booth! The lucky winner will walk away with the jar filled with treats and an awesome prize! Winner to be announced on Facebook at the end of the day.
Make sure you're present or ready to pick up the treats by the end of the 2024 season!
Now, mark your calendars for the highlight of the day.
1:00 P.M. - 1:30 P.M. Make sure your pooch is signed up at Nelson's Pumpkin Shack and proudly displays their entry number tag. Our esteemed judges will announce the winners in each category, and trust us, the competition will be ruff!
1:45 It's time for the Pooch Parade.
Following the parade, get ready for the Costume Pooch Parade on the Ruff-Way-Red Carpet! Show off your creativity and compete for prizes in categories like:
Spookiest, Best Child & Pet Category, Best Dog/Owner Costume Combo, and Most Original!
Each category's 1st place winner will receive a $50.00 gift card to Pet Smart!
And that's not all! At around 2:00 P.M., we're hosting the Pooch Pumpkin Pie Eating Contest. Can your dog gobble up a slice of homemade pumpkin pie faster than the competition? No forks or spoons allowed—only PAWS are! The judges' decision is final, and in case of a tie, we'll let a coin decide the winner!
Make sure to sign your pup up at Nelson's Pumpkin Shack between 1:00 P.M. and 1:30 P.M. We have weight classes for fair competition-LIMIT of 10 pups in each category
• Small Dogs (under 25 lbs)
• Medium Dogs (25 - 50 lbs)
• Large Dogs (over 50 lbs)
First-place winners in each category will receive $25.00 in cash!
After all the excitement, it's time to unwind at the Yappy Hour from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Join us at The Grain Bin Bar and enjoy $1.00 off all Beer, Wine, and Seltzers while you sip and drool with your furry friends! Cheers to a pawsome day!
Remember, there are a few rules to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time:
Only dogs are allowed in this contest. Please leave other animals at home. Dogs must wear ID tags at all times. Dogs must be on a leash (maximum 6 ft. retractable leashes at 6 ft.). Dogs must be under your control at all times.
Dogs must be up-to-date on all shots, including rabies vaccinations.
Event officials reserve the right to refuse entry or excuse aggressive dogs. Dogs must be sociable with other pets, adults, and children. Dogs must be well-adjusted to crowds and noisy environments. Be prepared to clean up after your pet—let's keep the patch clean and tidy!
Lastly, we're thrilled to announce that a portion of the funds raised from this event will be given to Journey Home Animal Rescue. Your participation and support will make a difference in the lives of these adorable animals!
