Pond maintenance at Braywick Nature Reserve

Braywick Nature Reserve is proud to have a beautiful, mature wildlife pond. Teeming with invertebrate wildlife, our pond is used and loved by schools and community groups. In order to maintain its biodiversity, sometimes silt needs to be removed and some vegetation removed. This winter, we will be draining and clearing half the water.
Come and help us: activities will involve digging, wheeling and cutting vegetation. Enjoy some fresh air, do some good and meet some new people. Wear old clothes, gardening gloves and wellies. Some waders provided. You will get muddy!
