About the speakers
Kirsty Mackay was born Glasgow and grew up in a working-class tenement block in the city. Her experience underpins her approach to photography, both in terms of the topics she chooses and her approaches to them. Shooting portraits and documentary images, Mackay tackles poverty without demonising or patronising the people who face it.
