Eric Lindholm, conductorThe Pomona College Orchestra’s season will open with Mahler’s impassioned Totenfeier (Funeral Rite), along with works evoking distant regions: Three Northeastern Landscapes inspired by composer Tao Mijares’s native Mexico; Finnish composer Kaija Saariaho’s atmospheric tone poem Ciel d’hiver (Winter Sky); and one of Antonín Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances.
