About this Event
Polytunnels and greenhouses have the potential to make fabulous year-round undercover growing spaces, but many gardeners only use theirs for tomatoes in the summer.
During 2024, Cherry will run a half day workshop on undercover growing, limited to 20 people, from her 1.5 acre no dig garden just 4 miles outside of Monmouth, where she has a polytunnel and large greenhouse.
In this workshop, cherry will show participants a variety of crops that can be grown through the winter and for early spring harvests, as well as how to eek out the summer crops for as long as possible into the autumn. She will also provide a sowing timeline for such winter crops, and discuss other elements of polytunnel growing like ventilation, pest control, cleaning the structure and watering.
Two dates are offered and each will show undercover cropping at different times of the year, but otherwise the content will be similar and will focus on autumn, winter and spring cropping only.
This half day in person event will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm. It will be hands-on and based in the garden with lots of fresh air. Tea will be provided on arrival, but please bring a flask with you if you like, as the price does not include any other refreshments.
