- The Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport initiative that encourages everyone in Canada to get active throughout June in search of Canada’s Most Active Community. The challenge is open to all communities and individuals, ultimately recognizing Canada’s Most Active Community (help this be Saskatoon) and awarding it with $100,000 to support local physical activity and sport initiatives. In addition to the national winner, there is also a prize for the most active community in each province and territory as well as weekly organization prizing to be awarded throughout June.The ParticipACTION Community Challenge presented by Novo Nordisk is proudly funded by the Government of Canada, Novo Nordisk and supporting partner, Saputo, and locally supported by ParticipACTION and TD ParksPeople.Engage Everyone in Saskatoon: Encourage group/business members to sign up as individuals on the ParticipACTION website. Come out to the 326 acre Richard St. Barbe Baker Afforestation Area with all it walking trails, or to the 148 acre George Genereux Urban Regional Park. But that is not all, Be active where you are, gardening, walking the dog, adaptive yoga or modified activity to include persons with varying abilities or walking or rolling to the corner store.
