About this Event
Join us for Politick aLIVE! The event will be an interesting and fun chat show with a focus on the ‘commons’ as part of our work to organise around a just transition away from oil and gas for Aberdeen.
In the first of a series of events, we will discuss how we can collectively transform our energy system to meet everyone’s needs.
The night will be hosted by Scott Herrett, our just transition organiser who is based in Aberdeen, and Orla Shortall from Speaking Weird. We will be joined by Rosie Hampton (Just Transition Campaigner at Friends of the Earth Scotland) and Matt Clubb (Northeast Scotland Retrofit Hub) to discuss public ownership of renewable energy production and community scale retrofit. There will also be live performances by writers/poets/artists - Esmond Sage, Arizona Mercedes Brodie and Jackill.
There will be plenty of opportunities for everyone to get involved in the chat about alternative perspectives on how our city can reinvent itself both, economically, socially, and culturally and crucially highlight what are the politics to make that happen.
