Polar Bear Encounter

Go into full polar bear discovery mode as you meet Cranbeary the polar bear up close with a zookeeper for this 30 minute encounter! Zookeepers work with Cranbeary to develop trained behaviors for her care and you can watch this training up close and behind-the-scenes. Reserve a date for this limited offer encounter which will be held only in January 2022. You will love meeting Cranbeary and learning about this truly iconic Alaskan species.

Please read the following information about pricing and registration:

• Masks are required for all encounter participants at all times. Zoo staff will also be masked. This is for the safety of our animals who may be COVID sensitive as well as for the protection of their caregivers. Please come with a mask and wear it at all times during the encounter.
• A Polar Bear Encounter Base Pass (for up to 4 people) is a required purchase and is $285 plus service fees for online processing. If you wish to add additional guests up to our maximum number of 10 total participants, you can add them individually by purchasing Guest Add-On tickets for $75 per person plus service fees. The Base Pass is required, guest tickets alone will not be accepted.
• The encounter fees include admission to the zoo for the entire day as well as the 30 minute encounter.
• We are only offering these polar bear encounters in January 2022 as this is a good time of year for Cranbeary's interest levels and demeanor. We are offering sessions on Mondays at 11am and Fridays at 10am in January.
• This encounter is for ages 6 and up only. We require a ratio of at least 1 adult for every 5 kids.
• Registration is online only. Each encounter day and time offered will close 48 hours before it occurs. Be sure to purchase well in advance. These polar bear encounters will likely sell out fast due to the limited number being offered.
• Participants should gather at the entrance 15 minutes before their encounter time. A zookeeper will meet you at the appointed start time.
• It is fine to bring a camera for pictures and videos.
• Please do not bring food or drinks to the encounter.
