About this Event
Poland is due to submit its national energy and climate plan (NECP) in June 2024 to the European Commission. In light of this commitment, Carbon-Free Europe, in collaboration with the Silesian University of Technology, the Institute of Power Engineering, and Princeton University’s Andlinger Center, has performed an energy systems modelling study to identify pathways for Poland to net-zero emissions by 2050 to inform the NECP and future intermediate milestones, policies, national strategies, and long-term investments.
During this event, the Polish Ministry of Climate will present a high-level summary of the updated national energy and climate plan including key indicators and considered scenarios. Carbon-Free Europe will then present results of the energy systems model study to provide additional perspectives on achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Following the presentations, we welcome an open dialogue with attendees to identify key aspects and potential pathways that Poland needs to consider in their path to net-zero.
