About this Event
Pokemon & Japanese Folklore Event
Join us at the Mauldin Library | W. Jack Greer Branch for a fun and light-hearted session where we’ll dive into Pokemon history/stories and how they overlap with real-world folklore; probably watch a heart felt video from the Pokémon channel; and discuss how you can start playing and advancing in the free-to-play, free-to-downloard game Magikarp Jump (with parent permission, of course!). Led by Professor Peggy Wood of Piedmont Technical college, dive into the rich history and mythology behind some of your favorite Pokemon characters, and discover the connections to traditional Japanese tales and legends. Whether you're a die-hard Pokemon fan or simply curious about Japanese culture, this event is sure to entertain and educate. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to learn more about the magical worlds of Pokemon and Japanese folklore as part of Upstate International Month!
