Pok Fu Lam night advenature

Designated in 1979, Pok Fu Lam Country Park is a 270-hectare sylvan sanctuary encompassing the Pok Fu Lam Reservoir. Completed in 1863, the reservoir is the oldest water storage facility on Hong Kong Island. This picturesque country park is set in the foothills of Victoria Peak. In the valley, Stage 1 of the Hong Kong Trail begins its scenic route along Harlech Road, offering spectacular views of Victoria Harbour.

Common bird species found in the park include Black Kite, Chinese Bulbul, and Crested Bulbul. Other inhabitants include Pallas's Squirrels, often seen chasing around the bushes, as well as mammals like Chinese Porcupine, Chinese Ferret Badger, Chestnut Spiny Rat, Masked Palm Civet, and Small Indian Civet. The night tours are also great for spotting nocturnal animals like frogs and spiders.

During the tour, your guide will explain the important role these creatures play in the local ecosystem, pollinating plants and controlling insect populations. As you immerse yourself in the nocturnal world of Pok Fu Lam Country Park, your senses will be heightened. With patience and a bit of luck, you may be rewarded with sightings of some of Hong Kong's most fascinating nocturnal wildlife.
