A Special Event Screening + Live Q&A feat Rebecca Coley (Director) and Tricia Shantz, Rusty Miller, Dick Hoole + Guests ]The story of an island communtiy dramatically changed forever by the discovery of a 'perfect wave' in the 1970s. POINT OF CHANGE chronicles the first surfers to 'discover' the point break in Lagundi Bay, Nias, Indonesia, and the unintended dramatic consequences that followed. Stumbling across the perfect wave, two surfers start a chain reaction of unintended consequences…
The true story of the first surf pioneers to find and surf ‘the point’ and the dramatic consequences for them and the people and place. We travel through time and revisit the megalithic island, taking a trip with the first surfers and the never before seen super 8 footage, taking us on an unexpected journey through time and examining what happens when we discover ‘paradise’. Perfection comes at a cost.
"I love it. Really clever and visually ravishing and tells a great story.” - BILL FINNEGAN (AUTHOR OF BARBARIAN DAYS)
