About this Event

Join Emmy Award winner Boris “Bluz” Rogers as he leads you step-by-step on a creative writing journey. During the workshop, participants will have an opportunity to write and perform a poem that incorporates many of the writing techniques acquired in the class. Targeted for ages 12+ and for adults, this could be the start – or resurgence – of your writing practice.

About the Teaching Artist

Boris “Bluz” Rogers, director of creative engagement at Blumenthal and is an actor, known for Midnight Runner (2017), When Tables Turn (2013) and Midas (2018). Bluz has been unwavering in his quest to stretch the boundaries of poetry. He is an award-winning poet having won three Emmy Awards, been a 2010 Southern Fried Poetry Slam Grand Champ, and is Slam Master and Coach of the 3-time National Poetry slam championship team, Slam Charlotte.
