This PIM event is a Poetry Slam! The third of three regional heats leading to the regional finals at the National Library on October 11th.This Poetry In Motion Slam is the third heat for the 2025 Wellington Poetry Slam Champs. The top three scoring poets from this event will gain a spot in the regional finals!

What is a slam?
A Poetry Slam is a competitive poetry event where poets compete for points. Five random audience members are tasked with being the judges and they score each poem out of 10 to one decimal place.
The number of poets involved and number of rounds can change event-to-event, but there are some universal rules – no props, no costumes, poems must be three minutes or less, poets must read original work, and no punching down or hate speech.
Price on the door is $5
The top four poets from each heat will go through to the Wellington Poetry Slam Champs at the National Library of New Zealand on October 11th.
