Fundraiser: What Parts of Yourself Do You See in Me?
My name is Charlotte Annis, and I am in stage 3 of my degree in Cultural Studies and Media with Journalism in the School of Social Sciences and I am the secretary for KSW. For a component of my Creative Project (dissertation) I have been running spoken word writing and performing workshops with Sanctuary and Kent Refugee Action Network. The title of this project is ‘What Parts of Yourself Do You See in Me?’ and intends to re-tell the mis-told stories in the media and policy which celebrate division and ostracise refugees and asylum seekers. To reinstate this message of difference to one of unity, the stories and voice of people who have experienced displacement should be at the forefront. So, please join us on Friday 14th March for a showcase of some of the beautiful poetry that has been created during this project.
Tickets: £6 (all money will be donated to Sanctuary and KRAN!)
Want to be a part of the showcase and perform a poem or short story on the theme of identity?
