As we’ll be taking a break in December, we’re bringing the Christmas cheer early with a special end-of-year celebration — our very first Poetry Praise Scramble!This one’s all about sharing, connecting, and community spirit. You can bring:
A poem you’d like feedback on
A finished piece you’re proud of and want to share
A poem by someone else that you love and want to celebrate
Take the stage or stay comfy in your seat — whatever feels right for you just keep it under three minutes. We’ll fit in as many readers as possible, but let us know in advance if you’d like to guarantee a slot.
Dubrek will be firing up their kitchen for pizza orders on the night, and we’ll bring along festive snacks to share. If you’re planning to order pizza, please give us a heads-up so we can help them prepare.
Christmas jumpers, hats, sparkles (and general merriment) are warmly encouraged but not compulsory — it is still November, after all!

Dubrek Studios is a recording studio, rehearsal space, performance venue, art gallery, cafe & bar located in the heart of Derby City Centre. They work with artists from around the world to bring their ideas to life. They are a fully accessible building and will be open to the public during these events.
