About this Event
This month's Playspace is a dress-up box for poets!
We will use props, costumes, and music in this fun session, to help us experiment with creating characters, personas, back stories and 'bodies' with distinct shapes, movements, and voices. We will ultimately try to crack each other up by performing a monologue 'poem' as our character.
Suitable for beginners to performance and writing - but if you've ever created a persona in a poem, why not bring that piece along as a starting point!
Cost
This workshop is subsidised by Arts Council England. Please choose EITHER a free ticket OR a ticket+donation if you're able to support our Future Fund.
About the tutor
Kirsten Luckins is an experienced poet for page and performance. She has made and toured two spoken word theatre shows with Arts Council Funding, and been second in the Saboteur Awards for Best Solo Show.
Optional extra
After the Playspace, you are welcome to stay on and record a poem to camera as part of our Content Creation Crew. Giving women the platform to express themselves through performed poetry is our core mission - don't leave your words burning a hole through your notebook! Get them out on to our socials and be part of the Tees Women Poets digital sisterhood!
