A Word From Your Host - Alison McKnight
Poetry in Motion was born from a vision—one that came to me while dancing on the beach, the deep resonance of a bass filling the space, my own poetry flowing through movement and voice. That moment of raw, embodied expression sparked an idea that grew into a shared experience—one that invites others to explore the intersection of movement, words, and sound.
Now, through Poetry in Motion, I bring that vision to life, guiding participants through a journey of presence, creativity, and co-creation. Rooted in somatic awareness and expressive arts, this experience invites people to step into their bodies, let words take shape through movement, and weave together in a collaborative performance—accompanied by the rich tones of a live stand-up bass.
For me, this event is more than just a workshop; it’s a living, breathing expression of what happens when movement, music, and meaning align. It’s an invitation to step into the unknown, to trust the body’s wisdom, and to create something beautiful—together.
