About this Event
Be a part of U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón's visit to Cuyahoga Valley National Park to unveil a new installation for the Poetry in Parks project. During her visit, hear Ada read select poems, participate in a discussion as well as watch the unveiling of a poem selected by Ada just for Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
In addition, a pop-up store wll be onsite with Ada's anthology.
All are invited to participate in the project by writing their own responses to the You Are Here prompt of “What would you write in response to the landscape around you?” People have the option to share their responses on social media using the hashtag #YouAreHerePoetry.
Doors open at 5:00pm | Bring lawn chairs
Additional parking available at Kendall Lake (1000 Truxell Road in Peninsula) with shuttle provided to the event.
About Poetry in Parks Project
Poetry in Parks is the first partnership between the National Park Service, Library of Congress, U.S. National Poet Laureate, and Poetry Society of America. The initiative is one half of Ada Limón’s signature project titled, “You Are Here.” The project also includes an anthology of original poems by 50 contemporary American poets.
