About this Event
Join Movement for Choice and writer, teaching artist, and yoga instructor Kristen Zory King on a poetry hike through Rock Creek Park and experience the joy of creativity in motion. Together, we'll wander through three(ish) miles of winding trails, stopping frequently to share poems of joy and collective resistance with one another as well as to spend time in creative rest and reflection. Bring comfortable clothing, your favorite poem of joyful resistance (or two! or three!) to share, and a notebook to jot down inspiration from the trees, the sky, and one another. 🌳🪻🗒️
After, please join us at La Tejana for a Happy Hour🍹🍸 from 5:00-7:00pm, in benefit and celebration of Movement for Choice and their mission toward joyful movement, collective solitary, and bodily autonomy.
Directions: We will meet at Ellē in Mt. Pleasant and then head to the Rock Creek Park entrance off of 17th St. NW. Kris will be in touch ahead of time with more details, including rain date if applicable. If you just plan to join for the Happy Hour, please plan to head to La Tejana anytime between 5:00-7:00 to enjoy drink specials and joyful company!
