About this Event
What's happening in the week and month ahead?
1) We're less than a month away from our first in-person edition of the Craft Write poetry workshop series. Facilitator Denise R. Ervin is coming through to guide us on a 2-hour journey into generative writing with a focus on intentional word choice!
Feb 22nd | 10AM-12PM | The Stanza | All paid Substation members welcome
2) A Word With You: A Reserved Open Mic has been moved to this upcoming Monday, 5:30PM in downtown Columbus (location upon registration)! I currently have 2 seats remaining for poets willing to open mic in way that they never have before.
3) Thursdays are our busy days: 8AM get some early writing in with us over at the Stanza for an open studio, Free Write session; come back at 5PM for the Creative Companionship book club (we're on Unbland Yourself by Chris Do; notes posted on the Substation if you don't have the text), and then a meeting with the 2026 50000 cohort afterwards (if you are in the cohort, don't forget your homework)!
4) Friday at the Stanza, in addition to headshots at noon, we have an evening workshop dedicated entirely to perfecting first stanzas called Bait The Hook! Free with 2 seats remaining; bring 5 copies of a first stanza with you!
5) want to consistently get people reviewing your poems, have online poem workshops, and get feedback every single week from poets respected in the field like Ajanaè Dawkins and Dr. Violeta Orozco? Join the Substation (which also gets you access to the Craft Write series and lots of little goodies to elevate your poetry game)
6) our first book fair is April 18th, 12pm-5PM! If you'd like some table space to showcase work, and/or to do a panel with 2 of your poet friends, free registration is now live!
Reach out for questions and if interested be sure to register! Updates for events shared on IG and FB
