A new Poetry Competition for members to enter, in order to help us celebrate National Poetry day.The theme is ‘I have a Dream’
Entry Fee £2 per Poem
Closing Date Monday 2nd September 2024
We all have dreams, from Joseph and his Amazing Technicoloured Dream Coat to Martin Luther King, not forgetting the Everly Brothers (All I Have to do is dream) and William Shakespeare's Midsummer Night’s Dream. A broad spectrum of inspiration and ideas.
What is your dream? To use a familiar saying, "Dream on! " Be inspired and enter our competition.
It can be amusing or serious, the choice of subject is yours!
*** your poem should be no longer than 24 lines .
*** It can be handwritten or typed, but well presented, remember the layout of a poem is part of the poetry. An illustration may be included as an optional extra.
*** Do not put your name on the poem itself, but attach a cover sheet with your name, address, phone and/or email contact, and the name of your WI. Include a sae if you want the poem returned by post.
The winner will be invited to the Poetry Day event on 3rd October to share their poem and will be presented with a Certificate at the Federation Annual Meeting in 2025.
Winner and runners-up will be asked to allow publication in the Magazine or online.
