Come and join the Student Council of English & American Studies for our monthly poetry club!At the meetings, which will be in English, we will read and discuss the poems that the participants bring us, while enjoying (free!) tea and coffee – and you're welcome to bring snacks!
Usually these meetings are in collaboration with professor Cindie Aaen Maagaard. However, she is unable to join us this semester. She is sad to miss out but hopes we still have fun, and is looking forward to rejoining next semester.
This semester we are focusing on Poetic Genres and Characteristics: Sonnets, Odes, Free Verse, Poems that Rhyme, Poems that Do Not, Etc.
✨This month's theme is “Dealer's Choice“✨
Please bring a poem that is written in English, and have it printed out so that everyone can get a copy.
!!Pictures will be taken at the meeting!!

*** Poetry, Coffee and Conversation
Do you enjoy reading poetry, but find that you don’t always make the time for it? Do you enjoy discussing poems with others, but find it hard to find others to do it with? Then the Poetry, Coffee and Conversation group may be for you.
The idea is to meet about once a month for an hour or so, read a poem together, and over coffee discuss what it means to us, what about it we think works and/or doesn’t work, what we like and/or don’t like, and whatever else comes to us.
As a teacher in the English department, I’m taking the initiative, but it’s not a class at all — just an opportunity for us to read together for a short while in an informal setting, and then be on our way again. Hopefully inspired, richer and happy that we made the time for a poem in our busy lives. ***
We hope to see you there!
