Poetry at Books and Beans is back, and with two terrific poets to get us under way.Neil Young hails from west Belfast (1964 batch) and now lives in Aberdeenshire. He worked as a labourer, kitchen-porter and stage-hand before becoming a journalist. His new collection, The Song She Didn't Sing (Seahorse Publications), was launched this summer and he is also founder of The Poets’ Republic magazine, Drunk Muse Press, and The Wee Gaitherin annual poetry festival in Stonehaven.
Martin Malone now divides his time between Donegal, Aberdeenshire and France. He has published four poetry collections, most recently Gardenstown (Broken Sleep Books), which was made in collaboration with artist Bryan Angus, and a Selected Poems. He is an editor at Poetry Salzburg Review and a Poetry Ambassador for the Scottish Poetry Library.
