AWP OFF SITE EVENT! Ava Winter, Ilana Masad and Meghann Plunkett.
Join us for an evening of illustrious poetry and fiction with readings from Ava Winter, Ilana Masad and Meghann Plunkett. Ava Nathaniel Winter is the author of Transgenesis, selected by Sean Hill for the 2023 National Poetry Series, and the poetry chapbook Safe House. Her work has appeared in The Baffler, Beloit Poetry Journal, Poetry International, Room, TriQuarterly, and elsewhere. She served as a Stadler Fellow at Bucknell University and received an Individual Excellence Award from the Ohio Arts Council. Winter holds an MFA from the Ohio State University and a PhD from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where she teaches in the Department of English and the Women’s and Gender Studies Program.
Ilana Masad is a writer of fiction, nonfiction, and criticism. Her work has appeared in The New Yorker, New York Times, LA Times, Washington Post, NPR, StoryQuartlerly, Tin House’s Open Bar, 7x7, Catapult, Buzzfeed, and many more. A graduate of Sarah Lawrence College, she has received her Masters in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she is currently a doctoral student. She is the author of the novel All My Mother’s Lovers.
Meghann Plunkett is a poet, screenwriter, and dog enthusiast. Her work has been awarded the Missouri Review's Editors’ Prize, the Third Coast Poetry Prize and Narrative Magazine's 30 Below Contest. She won the 2024 Black Lawrence Press Chapbook competition for her collection “What We Did To Her Made The Water Rise.” She served as a poetry reader for the New Yorker before moving to Los Angeles to work as a screenwriter for popular television shows.
