Poetry After Dark: Poetic Concert & Open Mic

Poetry After Dark is more than an open mic—it's a poetic concert designed to embrace the power of performance arts and authentic expression. Produced by Black Night Market and supported by Tacoma Community Arts Project, this intimate and electrifying experience brings together spoken word, live music, and raw storytelling in an atmosphere that encourages adults to express themselves freely and unapologetically.
✨ A Poetic Concert – Featuring two highlighted artists: one featured poet and one musician/songwriter, delivering soul-stirring performances.
🎤 An Open Mic Session – A space for all voices to share their truth, whether through poetry, storytelling, music, or spoken word.
Doors open at 7 PM, and the mic starts at 7:30 PM. Drinks will be available for purchase via concessions with Tacoma Arts Live.
Open Mic Rules:
1️⃣ Respect the mic – Allow the artists and host to speak. No talking while performers are on the mic.
2️⃣ One poem per artist – Performances should be 3-5 minutes long.
3️⃣ Introduce yourself – Share your name, artist name, and social media handles before performing.
