A poetic recital of the Ashanti Princes in UK during the 1830's with classical music and Ashanti ( Adowa) dance performances.
A poetic recital for charity of my forefathers in the 19th century ( the two Ashanti Princes ) who were sent from Manhyia Palace (Kumasi Ghana ) in 1836 by the Ashanti King Osei Yaw Akoto to be educated in the United Kingdom as part of a negotiation between the two Kingdoms. Prince Owusu - Ansah attended the coronation of Queen Victoria in 1838. The Queen also requested to see Prince Owusu Ansah to bid farewell before returning to the Gold coast (Ghana) .
It would be an afternoon of recitals ( educative) and a celebration of Anglo - Ashanti history with drinks and canapes plus a number of classical music performances from Handel Mozart Bach Beethoven played in the background. There would also be a traditional Ashanti dance ( Adowa ) performances .
Some art work / paintings from local artist would also be on display .
