About this Event
“Poetic Justice” is a creative writing poetry-based workshop where we, CAMBA Brooklyn YAS & Brooklyn Community Pride Center, will provide a themed one Tuesday a month safe space for LGBTQIA+ youths to express their perspective and collaborate as a collective. With local-based poets and artists being brought on to facilitate and share, the workshop will leave room for teaching, developing, and exploring how words on a page can release the soul. The themes of each month will be centered around the national holidays of that month, combining each special day, week, or entire month into one cohesive topic for the writing of that Tuesday. Led by the facilitators and supervised by Brooklyn YAS representatives, it shall give way to experiencing performed poetry, as well as writing your own work, and workshopping current pieces you already have in the works. The Workshop is for any level of experience or inexperienced writer for ages 13-29. A recurring program.
