Spoken word dichter en theatermaker Sunni Lamin Barrow geeft een speciale voorstelling rondom identiteit, migratie en seksuele geaardheid. Samen met geluidskunstenaar Phantom Wizard combineert hij poëzie en live muziek. Met zijn voorstelling daagt hij het publiek uit om na te denken over raciaal en queer bestaan.
Na afloop is er een panelgesprek met verschillende partners:
- Vertegenwoordigers van het Platform Turkse Dordtenaren
- Antidiscriminatiebureau RADAR
- Cultureel Educatief Centrum Dordrecht (CECD)
- Jongerencentrum R-Newt
Het publiek kan vragen stellen. Samen gaan we op zoek naar antwoorden op de vraag: "Hoe maken we een einde aan ongelijkheid en uitsluiting in de Dordtse samenleving?"
Over de artiest: Sunni Lamin Barrow is een bekroonde spoken word dichter en theatermaker uit Gambia, gevestigd in Nederland. Zijn werk combineert spoken word en theater, wat zorgt voor een unieke en meeslepende performance stijl. Zijn solovoorstelling A Fist of Tongues heeft door heel Nederland getourd. De voorstelling heeft veel lof ontvangen voor de verkenning van identiteit, migratie, seksualiteit, politiek en veerkracht.

Spoken word poet and theater maker Sunni Lamin Barrow will give a special performance about identity, migration, and sexual orientation. Together with sound artist Phantom Wizard, he combines poetry and live music. His performance challenges the audience to think about racial and queer existence.
Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion with representatives from the Platform Turkish Dordrecht Citizens, Antidiscrimination Bureau RADAR, the CECD (Cultural Educational Center Dordrecht), and youth center R-Newt. The audience can ask questions. Together, we will seek answers to the question: "How do we end inequality and exclusion in Dordrecht society?"
About the artist: Sunni Lamin Barrow is a multi-award winning spoken word poet and theater maker from Gambia, based in the Netherlands. His work reconfigures spoken word within theater, creating a unique and immersive performance style that has been nationally recognized. His solo show A Fist of Tongues has toured across the Netherlands, earning widespread acclaim for its raw exploration of identity, migration, sexuality, politics, and resilience.
