Pochoir - Stencil Monoprint

Pochoir is a stencil process for making colour mono-prints.

Imagery and colour are built up through direct use of the stencils, developing unique artworks.

Creating paper cut motifs, participants will draw, cut, ink and print a selection of unique colour prints.

Using the professional quality equipment and materials at Carousel Print Studio, students will leave with their own original artworks ready to frame!

This is a relaxed and fun beginners course; drawing skills are not necessary to enjoy this workshop. We will also cover how to continue to produce pochoir prints at home.

Carousel Print Studio is a not for profit charity based on the ground floor of Yorkshire Artspace, Exchange Place Studios in Castlegate, Sheffield. Carousel provides educational workshops in printmaking and opportunities for creatives in Sheffield, in a bright, warm, accessible and well equipped printmaking studio.

Carousel is located on the ground floor just to the left of reception. The doors are widened for ease of access and there is an accessible toilet. If you have any questions regarding access needs please do contact us at [email protected]

All materials and equipment will be provided.

Please wear old clothes as printing can get messy. Aprons will be provided.

Bring a packed lunch. Teas and coffees are provided.

Aprille McShane has over 10 years of experience in teaching and delivering visual art workshops for all ages and abilities. Her classes are aimed at beginners and through her supportive approach, makes art accessible and inclusive for all. She specialises in relief and monotype printmaking.

Often working with mark-making, colour and texture, Aprille’s experimental approach to printmaking is encouraged in her workshops, where she champions individual creativity.
