About this Event
Add some cultural flair to your graduation, holiday and year-round celebratory money gifts by making Japanese money envelopes decorated with mizuhiki knots, gifts known as pochibukuro . The group will work together through the steps of creating the envelope, putting all the pieces together in the end. As a bonus, Malia will take some time near the end of class to teach students how to hand-make the awaji musubi , or awaji knot, using mizuhiki cord.
You will go home with at least 1-2 finished envelopes; the rest of your kit; and the knowledge to finish the rest of your set confidently at home, along with one finished mizuhiki awaji knot.
All supplies provided.
Most appropriate for ages 13 and up.
