It's that time folks! Time to get up off the couch and start cramming some miles in to get prepped for the 5th Annual POAG Turkey Day 5K. The celebratory Fireball is chilling in the freezer! Who wants to win the prestigious and coveted 1st place finishers Turkey Day Fruit Cake? What a great way to kick off a glutenous day of comfort food, wine, beer, football, and arguing over politics with your drunk uncle! This year we will be starting and finishing at Jen Sibit's house. She has graciously offered her home (outside in the driveway) as the start and finish of the race. This is a kid friendly event. The course is self supported, which means there will be nobody holding up traffic at the roundabout, so everyone needs to be cautious out there when crossing live streets.
The Course: We are doing the usual lollipop route. Leaving Jen's house and heading down Arbor Green Trail out of the neighborhood and turning right (south) on Simmons. When you get to the Sports Park you go right running counter clockwise around the big park loop. Finish back at Jen's house coming back the way you came. I will provide updates on the park construction throughout the next few weeks and play it by ear.
