PMA Round Table Networking Event NYC

About this event

Since 1997, the PMA has been hosting panels and other events for the benefit of the production music community. These events are designed to facilitate education and networking, so that the community can be better informed and connected. As an alternative format, the PMA presents round-table discussions this evening on various topics, with each table co-hosted by two industry experts. Attendees sign up for three thirty-minute table sessions which will rotate through the evening. At the end, attendees will all join in a full group discussion highlighting points discussed during the event.

Table 1: The Business of Production Music

Creating a catalog? Just getting started in the business as a composer? Hear the ins and outs of the business of production music with these industry veterans.

Table 2: Writing to Music Briefs

This table explores writing to fulfill a music request and other topics related to composing production music. How do you strike a balance between showing your voice and hitting the brief? Topics will include composing using samples and live recording, and best practices for delivery (stems, metadata, etc.)

Table 4: Catalog Management

A table all about catalog management - what systems, apps and platforms do publishers and composers use to keep track of their work and stay organized? What are the next steps for keeping track of your works beyond a spreadsheet?

Table 5: Speed Networking

Meet collaborators and friends in the business to grow your network. Each participant shares their name, their experience writing production music, what skills they offer as collaborators or co-writers, with the purpose of facilitating co-writes and composer relationships.
