With a rising cost of living, gentrification, and conversations on the effects of late-stage capitalism both within Los Angeles and throughout the nation, Tía Chucha’s Coateca Collective will engage the culinary arts and offer an alternative perspective to caring for ourselves and community, while also reflecting on the effects of environmental injustices. Additionally, participants will reflect on the historic impacts of racial segregation, outdated urban planning practices, and honor centuries-old Indigenous herbal wisdom from the Chumash and Tataviam tribes.LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes is a PST ART Community Hub.
