Watch the town become a canvas during this two-day outdoor painting event
The streets of Historic Downtown Liberty will come alive with creativity as Plein Air Liberty returns for a weekend of outdoor painting, featuring artists from across the region. The public is warmly invited to stroll through town, meet the artists, and witness their work come to life in real time.
This unique event kicks off with the Plein Air Nocturne on Friday, October 3rd, from 5:30pm to 8:00pm on and around the Downtown Liberty Square. Artists will paint as the sun sets and the city lights glow, capturing the energy and beauty of Liberty at night.
The main event continues on Saturday, October 4th, from 8:00am to 4:00pm, as artists scatter throughout the historic district, parks, and scenic sites to paint en plein air—directly from life, under the open sky.
At 5:00pm, the public is invited to a judging and art reception at Liberty City Hall (5pm–7pm), where the day’s paintings will be displayed and available for purchase. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet the artists, support local and regional talent, and take home a one-of-a-kind piece that captures the spirit of Liberty.
This is more than an art event—it’s a celebration of creativity, community, and the charm of our historic town.
