The stunning landscape of Wisconsin's Driftless Area awaits.Painting outdoors on location, offers the joys and challenges of responding directly to what you see. Each day will include a demo of separate elements of painting: sketching, simple shapes, color, mixing, and light and dark values. Open to beginners and people with experience and we will like to various locations so sturdy shoes are recommended.
Artist Bio
John Mix has been painting, plein air oil and pastel landscapes over 20 years and lives in Madison WI. After eight years as a Lutheran chaplain at the Dane County jail he retired in 2015 to focus on painting more fully. His book Art and Soul: Co-creation and Sustainability, published in Feb. 2024, addresses the joys and challenges of embracing the creativity we all have as our birthright.
