Plein Air at the Arboretum Quick Draw Competition

The Quick Draw competition, part of Plein Air at the Arboretum, is set for Saturday, September 21 from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. All levels of painters from competition painters, professionals, amateurs and anyone who wants to explore their inner painter for two hours is welcome to participate in this fast-paced event of painting one of your favorite Blandy scenes.

The Quick Draw Competition entries will be judged by accomplished Plein Air artist Barbara Harris, with prizes awarded promptly at 11:15 a.m. Quick Draw participants are also encouraged to exhibit and sell their paintings during the Plein Air at the Arboretum Wet Paint Sale from 12:00 – 5:00 p.m. Plein Air at the Arboretum is a fundraiser for the State Arboretum of Virginia and all sold paintings will be subject to a 30 percent commission to benefit the State Arboretum of Virginia. Artists are welcome to increase the commission to the State Arboretum.

Any unsold paintings must be taken home by the artist at 5:00 p.m. Everything about the Quick Draw is quick...so be quick in reserving your ticket!
