Please Don’t Put That in Your Portfolio! Insights from the Brandcenter at VCU
From illegible fonts to broken links to “coming soon” projects that never quite arrive, small portfolio missteps can make strong work disappear. At the Brandcenter at VCU, the nation’s leading graduate program in advertising, branding, and creative problem solving, students learn to craft stories, present ideas, and land jobs at some of the most sought-after companies and agencies in the world. In this session, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Brandcenter trains students to connect insight, creativity, and strategy to produce industry-ready work. You’ll hear tips gathered from Brandcenter faculty, alumni, and recruiters; explore real student and alumni portfolios; and learn what truly makes a portfolio stand out…in a good way.
