Got old jeans? Perfect.Join us for a hands-on community making session where we transform worn or unwanted denim into useful, joyful objects giving them a second life.
We’ll be upcycling jeans into things like:
• denim planters & holders
• pocket organisers for pens, tools & bits
• hanging wall pockets & storage
• simple zip or pocket pouches
• personalised pieces full of texture and story
WHY DENIM?
Denim is one of the most resource-heavy fabrics we use:
• cotton denim takes huge amounts of water to produce
• old jeans and are often thrown away even though the fabric is still strong
• seams, pockets and stitching are already built-in, perfect for reuse
By upcycling denim, we’re:
• extending the life of a hard-working material
• reducing textile waste
• showing how design can come from what already exists
WHAT TO EXPECT
• All materials provided (or bring your own old jeans)
• Simple tools and techniques, no sewing experience needed
• Options to hand-stitch, assemble, or adapt
• Finished items to take home
• A relaxed, welcoming space to experiment and play
WHO IT’S FOR
• Anyone curious about textiles, reuse and repair
